JAR publishes three issues annually and invites submissions that challenge traditional academic norms by integrating text, images, film, and audio.
JAR is dedicated to developing standardized academic publication procedures that are commonly found in the sciences and humanities but are tailored to the unique needs of artistic research. The journal offers a digital platform where diverse practices, methodologies, and media converge to foster insights and promote expositions of practice as research. This approach positions research and art as mutually influential, acknowledging the dynamic and evolving nature of artistic research.
JAR publishes three issues annually, with submission deadlines on January 31, May 31, and September 30. The journal embraces submissions from a wide array of fields and disciplines, welcoming contributions from practitioners irrespective of their academic affiliations.
